While I was in a bible study I was asked what my thoughts were on prayer..

I have learned to pray out loud, because I wanted to pray for people and bless them by allowing them to feel a touch of God. I did not like the idea of praying out loud at all. I am simple and plain and not into any fancy words. I didn't want to be judged, and I didn't want to change the way I talk to God. God hears me and understands me just fine. I pray for everything all the time. I pray for a parking space, I ask God to help me unplug my sink. God is so good he always comes through. The problem is sometimes we don't like the answers.

I pray for God to correct me when I am wrong and to forgive me. I pray for God to help me change the things I know are wrong with me, and the things I am unaware of , that are not pleasing to God.

I like that song I am a friend of God. I recently read something about being God's friend. Like Abraham we can ask God to change his mind and have mercy on our loved ones. I have seen God's hand move in many ways in my life time. I have seen way to much not to believe who God is or in his mighty hand.

I was looking over some of my old writings and found something on how we do not see how God is moving and working on our problems or our prayers for others. Just because we do not see anything does not mean that he is not working on it, or on a person. Change takes a long time, and many of us are quite set in our ways, even fearing change and things we can not quite understand. Satan wants us to wear out and give up. We know who God is and that he hears and answers every prayer.

I heard this story on TBN that God had all his angels working on something and then he said stop. They asked , Why are we stopping God ? God said, they doubted. I can not work in unbelief. wow! That really spoke to me. What a vivid picture. Although I believe, how many times have I questioned or doubted? Like the man in the bible, I say God I believe, but help my unbelief.

The moral is that we have to guard our words. There can be no negative and no doubts, in our mind or in our heart nor in our words. They are like poison, we curse ourselves and our situation and others with our negative words.
Think of this.... God spoke and he created the world. He gave us his power... so that when we speak, we create our world.

So for the thought for the week... Let's be aware of the type of world we are creating for ourselves and for those we love.
Blessings, Ruby
